X-ray

As budgets get tighter, especially after retirement, you may consider postponing dental x-rays to reduce your costs.  Some of the doctors have been at Riverhill Dental for over 37 years.  They have found too often that when patients choose not to get x-rays, the cost to eventually fix the problem is much higher than if it was diagnosed earlier.  Dental x-rays are the dentists' eyes for areas in your mouth that cannot be seen with a visual dental exam.  This would be decay under fillings and crowns or between your teeth.  Lack of pain is not a reliable detector of decay.  Large areas of decay that caused the patient no discomfort can lead to costly root canal therapy, crowns or extractions.

In March 2008, Riverhill Dental updated to digital x-ray equipment.  Digital x-rays minimizes the radiation you receive, and gives the dentist, larger and clearer images to diagnose any dental problems you may have at an early stage.  Riverhill Dental only recommends procedures that are most beneficial to your long-term dental health.
